The success story of sera began more than four decades ago: In 1970 Josef Ravnak - who had made a good name for himself by selling live food for aquariums - founded his own company. He initially worked as a one-man business and gradually expanded the company into a leading provider in the aquarium, garden pond and terrarium industry. Today the traditional, family-run company sells its high-quality feed, care and technical products in more than 80 countries and has branches on almost every continent. In addition to the company headquarters in Heinsberg, sera has other branches in the USA, France, Italy, the Czech Republic and China. The company employs more than 200 people worldwide.

Toxic substances such as chlorine and heavy metals can get into the aquarium water with every water change. Even our well monitored drinking water often contains such substances in concentrations critical for fish and other aquarium inhabitants.

sera aquatan immediately conditions tap water into fish friendly, healthy aquarium water. It removes harmful substances such as chlorine and chloramines, binds heavy metals (e.g. copper, zinc or lead) and protects against ammonia. At the same time, it adds important mineral substances in a bioavailable form to the aquarium water, which is to the benefit of fish, plants, invertebrates and useful micro organisms.

sera aquatan ensures fish friendly water by removing toxic ammonia and chlorine, among others. These pollutants are harmful, and possibly fatal, for both fish and shrimps even in low concentrations. The diagram summarizes from when fish and/or shrimps are in danger.

aquatan is able to remove or bind these pollutants entirely within shortest time (10 minutes at the maximum), and thus protects the aquarium inhabitants against dangerous intoxications.

Sera Co2 Start

For a start into CO2 fertilization

Carbon dioxide (CO2) is the basic plant nutrient and allows adjusting a slightly acidic pH value, as it is preferred by many plants and fish.

The sera CO2-Start fertilizer system is easy to install and operate. It is ideal for the very widespread and popular smaller aquariums up to approx. 120 liters (31.8 US gal.). sera CO2-Start consists of an optically unobtrusive sera CO2 diffusion reactor and the corresponding sera CO2-Tabs plus.

This convenient and uncomplicated CO2 fertilization system can be integrated into the aquarium even by beginners without any previous knowledge entirely without any problems.

sera CO2 Tabs are simply placed into the according slot of the CO2 diffusion reactor. Upon contact with aquarium water, each tablet releases approx. 100 ml (representing 2,500 counting bubbles) of CO2 .

The sera breeding container is 2.5 liters (0.6 gal.) large and thus provides a large swimming space for the fry, which is essential for rapid and healthy growth. With a small quantity of sera biofibres it is also very suitable as a spawning container.

Sera Snail Collect

Snail trap

The sera snail collect is excellently suited for reducing strongly multiplying snails in aquariums.

Snails are lured into the trap by some bait (e.g. sera O-Nip tablets). Their way back is blocked by pins. The undesired catching of fish is prevented by pins in the entry of the trap.

The sera snail collect can alternatively be used for catching bristle worms in marine aquariums.
